Jatin Kumar Bidika
Postdoctoral Scholar
Jatin obtained his Ph.D. in Physics from the Indian Institute of Technology–Madras (IIT–Madras) with his thesis titled "Non-Trivial Magnetic Exchange Coupling in Symmetry-Lowered Correlated Electron Oxides." He is interested in studying the interactions among charge, spin, orbital, and lattice degrees of freedom, which give rise to a wide range of intriguing electronic and magnetic properties in quantum materials.
Maria Rekus
Graduate Student
Maria obtained her B.S. in Physics from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA in 2024, with minors in Math and Psychology. She is currently working on the computational study of quantum materials, with particular interests in chiral materials, superconducting properties, and heterostructures. She is also interested in applying machine learning techniques to accelerate the discovery of new materials.
Justin Cahaan
Graduate Student
Justin received his B.S. in Physics from University of California, Irvine (UC Irvine) where he studied the applications of machine learning for tokamak plasma diagnostics. He is currently studying computational techniques for use in analyzing chiral crystals. He is also a recipient of the Presidential Graduate Research Fellowship from Auburn University.
